Binbin Huang is a painter and registered acupuncturist in British Columbia, Canada. She is awarded as a National First Class Artist in China. Binbin Huang is currently a member in good standing of the China Artists Association, China Talents Research Association, the Vice President of the China TV Artists Association, Vice President of the Artist Association of British Columbia Canada, and Vice President of the British Columbia Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Practitioners.
She was born and raised in a family of scholars, painters, and Chinese medicine practitioners, and she learned painting and Chinese medicine from her family. She was interested and talented in fine brushwork, lady portraits, Chinese landscape painting, and flowers and birds. At age 17, she became a pupil of Ms. Jianyun Sun, a master of Chinese fine art and art restorer at the Palace Museum in Beijing. There she explored Chinese fine brushwork lady portraits for eight years. Binbin studied decorative art design and oil painting for several years and specialized in large murals, scenery, flowers, and photographs.
Besides her studies in fine art for her interest, Binbin worked as a professional in film, TV, and TV advertisement productions for most of her career. She created over 200 shows in her capacities as director and assistant director. She also occupied jobs in teaching and theatre-related works, such as costume design commissioned by the Chinese state for the new year’s gala and other events and art fairs. Her experiments in painting techniques have rewarded her with unique ways of seeing and using colors, as well as her personally developed hybrid painting method that combines Chinese fine brushwork painting and Western oil painting. She experiments to adopt a liberal and modern approach to fine art without neglecting the grounding in classic methods and basic skills.
After immigrating to Canada, Binbin continued her pursuit of painting and active participation in fine art-related activities. She has displayed her images in various art fairs, such as the art fairs sponsored by the townships of Coquitlam and Surrey (White Rock) of British Columbia, Canada, to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Canada. Across the sea, Binbin has taken part in the fine art exhibition for the 19th National Congressional Meeting in Beijing, where she was awarded among the top 100 brilliant painters of China.
In recent years, Binbin participated in the Art Capital in Paris between 2020 and 2022. Art collectors widely collect her paintings from Canada, U.S., Netherlands, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Portugal, Germany, and Sweden.
