“Sahara Desert Memories” is reminiscent of my trip to the Sahara Desert where I was lucky enough to enjoy gorgeous views, see the sunrise and sandy sunsets. It was a very special experience for me. In this oil painting, I combined the traditional painterly approach with the Italian technique impasto to create this beautiful piece. The painting is multilayer and pastous. It has thick and rich texture, and full of vibrant and vivid colours. With all the restriction in place and being unable to travel now, I decided to create the series of multilayer oil paintings devoted to memories. I believe that our memories are essential in our lives because they allow us to grow and learn to be a better person. Memories help us continue progressing forward and teaching us very important life lessons that we can use and apply in our lives. And what I love the most about memories, is that they teach us to be truly present in the moment which I explore a lot in my works. Often we do not value what we already have, we do not appreciate moments we are in right now until those moments become memories. And while memories are essential part of our lives, I also want to remind my viewers about the importance of living in a present moment.
