Lucia Steeg's art celebrates mixed media, texture and colour. She created these contemporary pieces in her home studio in the greater Vancouver area.

Her South African heritage has very much influenced how she creates. The African continent overall is one of diversity, texture, spirituality, and rich, vibrant colour. There is a boldness to everything, and this is the influence that flows into every piece she creates. Each creation is a meticulous layering of materials, allowing her to create textured and multidimensional pieces that encourage viewers to look deeper into each art piece.

Lucia Steeg integrates art and crafting into specific pieces. Most of her creations contain handmade or hand-cast items of various materials. This allows her to bring in those textures she so loves. The end results produced can be quite interesting and varied!

When creating spiritual art, Lucia Steeg loves incorporating crystals. She has a ritual that she practices for each of these pieces, and love and positivity flow from her hands into the art.
Lucia Steeg draws her inspiration from nature and everyday items, especially those that can be transformed. To her, nature is perfection, and inspiration can be found in the flowers, on the beach, in the sky or the bark of a tree in a nearby park.
