Artwork Description

Sinfonia Para Amor is an exceptional mixed-media watercolor by Latin American artist Juan Quevedo, presented in a dramatic custom frame that echoes the rhythmic geometry of the composition.

In this work, Quevedo orchestrates a vibrant visual symphony: angular forms, musical curves, and prismatic color planes intertwine against a moody sky, evoking movement, passion, and emotional harmony. The triangular composition heightens the sense of depth and intensity, drawing the viewer into a world where music and abstract portraiture merge.

Quevedo’s refined linework, bold palette, and dynamic structure make Sinfonía Para Amor a standout piece for collectors seeking culturally rich, design-forward contemporary art.

Artist Biography

Juan Quevedo (b. 1952, Lima, Peru) is a Peruvian-born painter whose artistic journey bridges South America, Europe, and the United States. He began his formal art training at an early age at the Institute of Art in Lima, where he developed a strong foundation in drawing, composition, and color. Seeking deeper classical training, Quevedo later continued his studies at the Royal Academy of Art in Madrid, absorbing European artistic traditions and refining the technical precision that would become characteristic of his work.

In 1970, Quevedo immigrated to the United States, where a new environment and cultural landscape began to influence his evolving visual language. His works often reflect a dialogue between Latin American heritage and Western artistic sensibilities, blending expressive brushwork with atmospheric compositions. His subjects range from serene landscapes and emotive figurative pieces to poetic interpretations of memory, place, and identity.

Although Quevedo has maintained a relatively quiet market presence, his paintings and prints have appeared in North American auctions, and his works continue to circulate among private collectors. His practice reflects the steady dedication of an artist who has painted across decades, cultures, and continents, carrying with him the visual imprint of his Peruvian roots and his life abroad.
