Artist Biography

Mykola Yurov is a professional artist-painter, who graduated with honors from the Kiev State Institute of Decorative and Applied Art and Design. M. Boychuk. Held 12 personal exhibitions. His works are in private collections of collectors of Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Thailand, China, Japan, Indonesia, India, Australia, Poland, Sweden, Germany, Canada, USA, Spain, France, Belgium, Austria and Italy.

The artist works in the technique of easel oil painting on canvas and gesso, genres include city landscape, icon, genre painting, landscape, still life, and portrait, creating paintings of realism, impressionism, abstractionism, and surrealism.

Mykola Yurov is engaged in teaching activities - he leads a course of painting and drawing in the studio of painting Kyiv Art School, conducts master classes.

Mykola is actively engaged in charity: a large number of copyright paintings, he donated to hospitals, nursing homes, orphanages and military units. In particular, Mykola presented more than 60 paintings in different years to the National Military Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in the city of Kyiv.
Mykola’s creative and public activities are marked by state awards and awards of public organizations, among them: Medal-distinction of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine “For Assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine”, the Order of the Pochaev Icon of the Blessed Virgin. He is the Laureate of the Emerald Lira Prize of the State Border Service of Ukraine in the nomination “Fine Arts”, 2009.

Mykola's works have been showing in Canada since 2018. He and his wife were able to get out of Kyiv just recently to come to visit his son and his family in Vancouver.
