Artist Biography

Holly Bromley is a Canadian artist originally from Alberta and now based in Vancouver, B.C. Her life took an unexpected turn in 2006 when a seemingly ordinary moment—pushing a crosswalk button—resulted in a life-altering electrical shock. The traumatic incident left her with permanent muscle and nerve damage, but it also ignited a deeper appreciation for life. As she navigated her recovery, Holly Bromley found solace and healing through painting and being surrounded by nature, which became essential parts of her therapeutic journey. Teaching herself to paint, she discovered a new creative passion that not only helped her cope with the challenges she faced but also allowed her to see how, even in the darkest moments, unexpected blessings can emerge. Holly started her art journey by creating custom paintings using acrylic paint on canvas. Her art evolved over the years as she developed her unique style and technique.

Her artwork is defined by a unique and thoughtful approach to natural materials, incorporating elements such as crystals, moss, and precious metals. Through her skillful layering of resin with mixed media, she creates a striking 3D effect that adds depth and texture to each piece. She often makes her own paints from a variety of natural resources, including minerals, plants, clay, roots, flowers, berries, and vegetables, infusing her work with a tangible connection to the earth. This deep bond with nature not only influences her creative process but also profoundly shapes her perspective on life.

Beyond her studio practice, Holly is the founder of Wild Ones Art Club, a thriving creative community for children. As a dedicated homeschool mom and outdoor early childhood educator, she is committed to nurturing creativity and resilience in the next generation. For Holly, art is not just a passion—it is a vital part of her everyday life.
