Paul Chizik Among 35 hot Vancouver Artists to look out for... Paul Chizik was Born in 1957 in Vancouver, B.C. His paintings are rooted in the classical tradition with a contemporary approach. He works in the custom of painting major-scale canvases in the studio as well as the plein-air custom of working directly outdoors in a variety of environments where the natural splendour or raw urban power is immediate. Paul Chizik's works range from landscapes to portraiture, figurative narratives, and still life. As an artist, mentor, and teacher, he hopes to see the art of painting regain its role as an exciting, current, and vibrant visual medium with renewed urgency.
