"Sculpture is a language born in the space between the words. The more we talk the less we hear it..."

Serge Mozhnevsky (Painting) was born in Russia and raised in Uzhhorod, the capital city of Zakarpattia province in Ukraine. In 1982, he graduated with honors in Wood Carving from Uzhhorod Professional College.
His works have found homes in private collections across Europe and the United States. In the 1990s, Serge Mozhnevsky (Painting) began exploring a distinct sculptural language, grounded in simple lines inspired by natural forms, such as the human body, which he believes offers the greatest freedom for emotional and imaginative expression.
In 2000, Serge immigrated to Canada, settling in Vancouver. During his adaptation to a new life, he continued to follow his passion for art, experimenting with different materials in sculpture. This transition from wood to materials such as stone, steel, and aluminum led him naturally into the realm of public art.
For over a decade, Serge's sculptures have been showcased in numerous outdoor sculpture programs across Canada and the United States, with several pieces now part of permanent collections in places like the Mayo Clinic in Eau Claire, Wisconsin; Corvallis, Oregon; the City of Nelson, British Columbia; Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Castlegar, British Columbia; Marble Falls, Texas; Uzhhorod National University in Uzhhorod, Ukraine; Alexander Dubcek University in Trencin, Slovakia; and the University of Oradea, Romania.
Serge's sculptural language is expressive, providing a medium for observation and reflection for all who experience it. Beyond sculpture, Serge also engages in painting, where he explores similar themes through different forms of artistic expression. This exhibition showcases his paintings, many of which share thematic connections with his sculptures, offering an integrated perspective on his artistic vision.
