"Ascent" Description:
Inspired by Dante's "Divine Comedy" depicts the beginning of the journey. After reading it first in English and then listening to it read in Italian to feel the poetic power of the original language, its rhythm, and intensity, my imagination entered Dante's cave whereupon the visuals for this painting emerged.
