Living on the Edge 8 captures the dynamic atmosphere of Vancouver Harbour, where architecture, water, and light converge in constant motion. Suggestive of Coal Harbour and the surrounding waterfront, the scene unfolds through fractured reflections, vertical masts, and layered structural forms that rise and dissolve within luminous color.
Farahnaz Samari interprets the harbour not as a literal view, but as an energetic presence shaped by rhythm and transformation. Geometric planes and shifting light create the sensation of a city suspended between land and water, solidity and reflection. Boats, structures, and skyline fragments merge into a vibrant interplay of movement and stillness.
Rooted in the spirit of Vancouver’s coastal identity, the work expresses the vitality, fluidity, and contemporary pulse of life along the harbour’s edge.
